The opening of the novel describes how a young boy's daily life is disturbed by events of the present, which are somehow inextricably linked to those of the past.
A protagonist whose first letter is T. (The Narrator) finds himself unprepared when his childhood friend (Besian) is faced with a bitter reality after returning from exile, and as a result ends up as a defendant before the court, for a rather serious crime within the family for a moment, where he lost control.
At the same time that he learns about this event, he meets by chance on the street an old acquaintance (Behar) that he had not seen since childhood, and learns the reasons for his disappearance without name and notice years ago. In a conversation with him, he begins to understand how the destinies of his friend and this person from the past have in common and match, and why the events took place in two completely different eras.
In an effort to inform another close friend (Ilirin) about these events, he was surprised by the appearance of a girl's figure in the latter's house, when he had gone there to inform him, but he himself was not there. found.
While the narrative continues in the background the whole time the events are unfolding there is a friend of his, with whom he shares the house, and a stray that they had accommodated in it to keep him from certain death on the street.
The events are interwoven in their variety even more, when a lady (Mrs. Bekteshi) comes to the city, together with a character from across the sea to fulfill her chastity in creating a political movement, which would shake the foundations of the system political-social.
This supporting cast of characters is excellent, each with their own distinct character and plenty of color and texture.
Despite the dramatic and heavy events that accompany the entire narrative, it is a pleasure to accompany the Narrator on his physical and emotional journey, thanks to the subtle humor and rather impressive descriptions that accompany this work. The unexpected ending is a fitting resolution to a story full of epic love feelings, and unforgettable between friends and couples
